I applied through the UCAS system to schools on February 4th. They said I would shortly get a welcome letter through my email including my application number. It is now the 7th and I have recieved nothing. Does anyone know if this is normal?? Should I call them or should I wait it out?? Please let me know as soon as possible!! Thank you!

dont worry this is normal... it usually takes some time for them to reply to u.
if uve applied via your school, check back with them if the application ha been recieved successfully to UCAS. if so, then jus wait for about 2 weeks..
if u dont get a reply till then, then call em...

thanks so much!!! that takes a lot of worry off my mind.

The welcome letter comes through snail mail...not email.

Oh. I was sure it came through email. Alright then, Im sure I'll be getting it in the mail sometime soon. I guess it takes a little more time to process and get it shipped from the UK over to Los Angeles.

Yeah mine took 2 weeks or so and I already had 2 replied but couldn't check them!

Ah! That's annoying, and weird.

i live in San Jose, CA and it took like a week or so its fine plus i just got 2 rejections from LSE today... SIGH*!!! damn IT LAW AND IR!! but i got IR with history but did get an offer from Warwick, UCL

Thanks KING IS HERE. I feel better. Sorry for your rejections...but congrats on your offers!! Also, how long did it take to get offers from the time you sent in your application??

Warwick UCL came back in like 3 weeks but if i dont get into LSE probally warwick for me

Thanks for letting me know. Good luck on your offers!

Alright, just an update. I recieved the information in the mail yesterday. Very glad that it came in only 6 days!

I know the international deadline for applications is later, but for UK students it is 15th January. People who applied for Oxbridge send their is by 15th October. Apart from Oxbridge all unis offer rolling admission, so even if you are a brilliant candidate, if you apply in February you may be rejected just because the course you applied for is full up. I suspect some places are kept open for internationals if the uni needs the money they bring in, but you are still at a disadvantage. They never tell internationals this, but they should IMHO.

King is here:Are you not at Warwick now?????First year?
I thought you are doing ecomonics, politics there or something.
are you applying or transferring to LSE?

I was admitted into Aberdeen (snail mail) before i even got the confirmation from UCAS :p

You are so lucky! I have yet to hear from Aberdeen, although I have heard from all the others!
