Sorry I know this is irrelevant, but being from Indiana I couldn't resist!!!!! That comeback was more intense than the Michigan MSU comeback!!!! 49 TDS!!!!!!! Just to connect this to Michigan, Cato June and Josh Williams played for the Wolverines. GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to have to disagree on this one buddy! LOL Peyton is a whiner. Woodson deserved the Heisman...and I would chose Brady over Peyton any day! hehe I still like your style though!

Excuse Me?????????? Peyton will be considered the GREATEST QB to ever play the game. Alex you are right about most things, but on this you are dead wrong. Charles Woodson is now a washed up alcoholic, and Tom Brady is a biatch whose Patriots will get owned by The Colts!!!!!! Peyton and Dungy are men of class and character who hold the game with the highest regard!!!!!!! Go Colts!!!!!!!

Nirvana, I do not keep track of Woodson today. But in 1997, Woodson was the most dominant player in NCAA football. The ball was thrown to his side of the field just 32 times (that's how feared he was) all season long, and he managed to break up 13 of those and intercepted 8 of them!!! That is phenomenal!!! If a QB threw his way, there was a 40% chance that the pass would be broken up and a 25% chance that it would be intercepted!!! He allowed just one TD that entire season. He singlehandedly beat OSU with a punt return for a TD and a TD reception. Manning, on the other hand, lost to Florida for the 4th consecutive time. That's what cost Manning the heisman.

As for Manning being a man of character and class, I canot agree with that. He isn't a bad person, but he isn't classy. He refused to shake Woodson's hand when he won. That is unheard of. And until this day, he claims that he deserved the Heisman. Brady on the other hand is classy and has incredible character.

Finally, Manning will have to win 2 or 3 superbowls to be considered the greatest QB ever. As of now, guys like Montana and Bradshaw will be remembered as the greatest. If Brady can equal the success of the last 5 years over the next 5 years, he WILL be remembered as one of the top 5 QBs of all time.

But with the exception of this debate, we can agree on most things! hehe

No I have to disagree about the Peyton Manning will be the greatest QB to ever play the game. I agree he has spark, but Tom Brady has won 2 superbowls and set an NFL record with 20+ wins straight. Manning hasn't even gotten into a superbowl, period. He chickens out in each playoff and he does have an amazing arm though, and a great mind of a qb like his father. Let's not talk about his brother. When Peyton does, and wins one, that is the greatest legacy of all. Look at Dan Marino, though he is considered one of the greats,if he just won one sb, he would proabably been called he greatest.

Manning and Brady are two different types of qb. Brady doesn't even have that great of a speed compared to McNabb and Vick. He doesn't have the strong arm like Manning, but he does have ability to win when his team his down. Thats what his leagacy will mean. I love Michigan, go blue. Michigan has like 3 or 4 starting qb's, don't we? Look at how many comebacks happened with Brady, when compared, not that many with Manning. I think Brady will top Manning in the end :)

Okay. The reason the colts haven't played in the superbowl comes down to one thing: defense. This year, however, with Dwight Freeny, Rob Mathis, and Mike Doss, our defense is improving, and the addition of Brandon Stokely as a slot receiver makes our offense one of the deadliest in the nation. Peyton did have some maturity issues in college and at the beginning of his career, but now during interviews and even in games he always conducts himself with poise and character. He maintained that he was not deliberately trying to break Marino's record-i.e. he would never throw unneccessary passes for TDs, as evident by taking knees when up even at the three yard line and giving the ball to Edgerrin James. Even when he broke the record on Saturday, while everyone was celebrating, he kept his focus on the game and made sure the 2-point conversion was successful. Peyton of course isn't as athletic as McNabb, Vick, or Culpepper, but he is the most brilliant QB. He can read exactly what the defense is going to do, and that he learned by journaling and reviewing each team and writing down their exact maneuvers, strengths, and weaknesses in notebooks. Mentally he is the strongest. Brady didn't win 2 superbowls or win 20 straight, the patriots did. Tom Brady is a good QB and much improved since his days at Michigan, but he is nowhere near Peyton's level. Even though I am a die-hard wolverine fav, I have never been a fan of Michigan QBs in the pros. Brian Griese is the only other starting QB from Michigan, but the Bucaneers are not good this year. John Navarre and Drew Henson both had stints as starters, but they were awful and were quickly replaced. Peyton I will maintain is incredibly brilliant, which is why other teams are afraid of him when he has the ball. Also, Eli manning is not in any way resemblant of Peyton, and yes I agree Charles Woodson was one of the greatest college corners ever, but Peyton now is invaluable.

Nirvana, you downplay Brady's accomplishments. The PATs were down by 4-6 points in the last 2 minutes of the game 9 times since Brady took over. Brady has scored TDs in all 9 occasions to win the game. There are 6 qualities that make a QB great, Manning has the edge in two (athleticism and arm strength and accuracy), Brady has the edge in four (intelligence, leadership, toughness and vision). At the end of a day, a QB's job is not to pass the ball, it is to win games. When it matters most, when the team is down, Brady has time and again bailed them out. No other QB does it quite as well.

If Manning finds a way to win a couple of Superbowls, I would agree that his image would change. But as of now, I see him purely as an individual contributor.

HAHAHAHAHAHA your description of brady was a better description of Manning. NO QB TODAY is a better leader, more intelligent, and has a better vision. The reason the colts have not yet made the superbowl, i repeat, was because of the defense. Now, we have the NFL leader in sacks (freeny) and a tough line. Our secondary is also catching up. Manning is quite possibly the most intelligent QB in the game today. He can read exactly what the defense is going to do, which contributed to his record breaking performances. Who will be the starting afc QB in the pro bowl this year? Oh yeah. MANNING.

I guess we'll just have to see won't we? hehe May the best QB win the Super Bowl!

Alexandre, perfectly pointed out. I agree, let the best team win in the superbowl.

You get American football over in Qatar?

Err I meant UAE, my mistake...

We get very limited Football in the UAE. I get Orbit ESPN so I get to see a few games. I will get to see the Rose Bowl!!! Kickoff is at 2:00 AM local time, but what the hoo!

You obviously get very little NFL Alex if you still think Peyton is the same as he was during his college years. I reiterate, even after breaking Marino's record, his immediate response was "2 point conversion." Then, instead of passing, he read the defense and handed the ball to Edgerrin. That demonstrates 1) class for not celebrating and remaining focused and 2)intelligence for the most prolific throwing QB in the NFL to hand the ball to Edgerrin (who is the leading RB in the nfl anyway) because of an accurate defense read for the two point conversion. :)

I never cared much for the NFL Nirvana. I am a big Fan of college football, but the NFL disgusts me most of the times.

Peyton has a long way to go. Without winning a couple of SBs, he will leave a legacy similar to Marino...good but not great QB.

And I disagree, Peyton has no class. He is trash as far as I am concerned. A man who is not a gentleman at the age of 23 is not going to be a gentleman at the age of 53 or at 83. I will not let his cheap marketing gimmik fool me.

I fully admit that he is a great passer, but he has not shown anything that makes me believe he is even close to Brady's level. Being a great QB takes more than just a good arm. It takes guts, character, leadership and brains. You don't just develop those traits. You either have them or you don't. Brady has them...Manning, I believe, does not. In the end, a QB will only be remembered for what he won...nolt his TDs thrown and his arm strength and accuracy.

One day, if he leads his team to a couple of SB victories, I will concede that he is a good QB. But even then I will think he is a whiny, spoiled and self-centered person...just like Drew Hanson and several other QBs that attended Michigan mind you.

Alexandre....WATCH A COLTS GAME THEN YOU WILL SEE. EVERY SPORTS ANALYST has commented on Peyton's class and respect for the game. They all consider him the best QB in the game. Peyton is on a whole different level than everyone else. He even says that he's so intimidated by the games even now. Here is why Peyton is so good: PAY ATTENTION. From the time he began playing organized football in high school, he began writing down in notebooks every facet of the opponents' defenses-i.e. stengths, weaknesses, habits, something he continues to do to this day. You have obviously not watched Peyton play at all this season, for if you do, you will be amazed. Defenses are starting to read counteract him early in the game, but eventually, he fires back and becomes the most feared man on the football field. It is his sheer brilliance as a QB that makes him so great. He is having one of the greatest seasons of any QB in the history of the league, and Brady is nowhere near his level. I CHALLENGE you to watch him play. Sometimes, I know it's tough, you just have to let go of your favoritism toward Michigan. Peyton knows when to underthrow, and his behind-the-shoulder connections with marvin harrison are simply unbelieveable. Again, if you think the current peyton is the same as Tennessee peyton, you are sadly mistaken. WATCH HIM PLAY. That is all I have to say.

Like I said Nirvana, I do not doubt Manning's technical skills. It is his leadership skills that I doubt. As for his class, I will never respect him. Like I said, an adult's nature does not change over time. He was trash at 23, he is still trash today.

And I do not favor Michigan athletes. I cannot stand Drew Hanson and I am not too fond of Brian Griese or Ty Law.

Brady is another story. He is classy and he is the best QB in the game. To me a QB is a field general. He leads his team to victory, no matter what. When Manning has a 0.800 record as a starter and 2 SBs under his belt (better make it three because Brady will win his third SB this year), I will then tell you that Manning as is good as Brady. But not before.

Brady's beter

You cannot argue with 49 TDs and 4500+ yds so far. Peyton will take the colts all the way this year.

Nirvanarageatm, you are so wrong. I admit the Colts have spark this year, after seeing Manning break the feat, I admit he is a good qb not a great one. Alexandre spoke true words, and its horrible that NE barely lost 2 games. Let the best team win.
