Pfaa

What is hte PFAA?
How is it different from FAFSA and CSS?
The deadline was, i think, Feb 1st.
Should I still send it in even though it is late?

Thanks in advance!

Definitely send it in.
It's a streamlined and straightforward version of the two.
You should still submit all three, IMO.

We have to submit all threee???

Oh crap!! I just submitted PFAA as I havent done the other two for any other college either... What should I do? Help!!

Wow...
The deadline for most schools is February 1st, for the CSS.
Some have the FAFSA on the 1st as well, some a bit later.
But, you should definitely get to work.

You kind of NEED them if you want any financial aid at all.

Princeton says it only requires the FAFSA for admitted students (required to submit in April). You can use the CSS to fill out the PFAA online- they give you an option to upload the CSS data if you submitted the CSS at the beginning of the PFAA.

I'd recommend only submitting the PFAA, since you have to pay $16 if you were to submit the CSS. Save the FAFSA submission until you're admitted.

(Info from this year's Financial Aid booklet that Princeton sent out)

Oh, and the recommended deadline for the PFAA was January 15, and that you should submit the PFAA "no later than Feb 1"

How bad is it if we did not submit the PFAA on-time? The website was really busy that night on Feb 1, and I had to submit mine Feb 2 instead.

I don't think it's that big of a deal.
The worst thing that could happen is that they would refuse to give you financial aid because you were late.

But honestly, I doubt anyone would lose their financial aid because they turned in the financial aid application a day late, especially since so many people do it. Also consider Princeton's motives. Why would they accept someone, just so they could essentially deny them because of a lack of $$? The only thing Princeton would gain is their endowment back (which isn't exactly lacking) and a lower yield stat for that year.

So, if you haven't finished the application, do so immediately; it can only help. If you already have finished it, and it was a day or two late, don't stress.

me2008, do the PFAA online.
Get yourself an id, click on the financial aid app adn you will be guided
through the process.

Relax! You do not have to panic.

Doing the FAFSA is good if you are a domestic applicant.

CSS/Profile is helpful, since the pFAA can import the information
with the click of a button if you provde it your CSS ID#.

:)

I looked through the financial aid booklet too.. And the FAFSA is only for admitted students, thats what it said.. And for the other colleges, Feb 15th seems to be the deadline from what I gathered.. Anyhow, now that everything's done, all the best guys!
