Do any of you have experience with taking a PG year?
If so, when during college recruiting did you decide to contact prep schools? Did you wait until Fall of Senior year, when you had a pretty good idea of who was interested in recruiting you? Or did you go after the preps before then, thinking they might recruit you also?

Thanks!

In my experience, I remember seniors talking about planning to do a pg year early on in the fall season. For whatever reason they had already decided over the summer that they were not being recruited at a level where they felt they had the best advantage and were going to hold out and do the pg year and hope for some extra size/height, experience, and some boost in academics. This was for football. The parents I spoke with had already identified specific schools with good football programs. I presume they had let coaches whom they’d had contact with know about these plans, and otherwise just planned to bump the whole recruiting process to their new repeated “senior year”

^^ thanks for the info.
