Hi All,
I was wait listed (alternate) for both PGSS - PA Governors School of Sciences at CMU and Lehigh’s Summer Engineering Institute. I am wondering if there is any chance I will move off of the wait list. The SEI program says accepted people must reply by 4/18. Does anyone know the date that PGSS acceptances had to be returned by? I would really like to get into either one. Does anyone know how many people tend to be waitlisted and what if any percentage of those get to go? Alternate is better than rejected, but I don’t know if I should be hopeful at all.

D got wait listed on PGSS and admitted by SEI. I think what is weird is that SEi might be more competitive, being selected from 7 states. Since she is more into engineering, she might go to SEI.
I guess they will have at least 10% people being alternate, which meant 6 for PGSS. So I believe you have good chances of getting in. Maybe some will go to RSI. Best of luck!!@lgotthis15

I actually called PGSS, the alternate list is ranked apparently. But they also want to keep boy/girl ratio. Don’t know about SEI though.

Ended up getting into PGSS! So excited!
Igotthis, i am also wait listed and have not received any communication so far. Do you know if there is a time frame for this offer for wait listed candidates to accept.Also did they offer all WL candidates. Just want to make sure that my mail did not go missing for some unknown reason.

Hi Sguni - I got the phone call last Friday afternoon. They said someone had decided not to go. Then I was sent some paperwork to fill out and needed to return within a week. It seems like wait list candidates are contacted one at a time as openings come up. Good luck!
