I am a senior Poly Sci major. I intend to obtain a Ph.D in the field following my undergraduate graduation. My interests lie in health care politics and the politics of universal health care. Does anyone know of any Ph.D programs that focus in this rather narrow specialty or know of any advisors that specialize in health care politics within a Political Science Department?

Instead of looking at political science programs, you should look at policy programs because they focus on policy revelent concerns. Policy programs could be within political science department but narrow your search to that.

Political science also focuses on politics and policy, and many political scientists focus a lot of scholarship on policy of all types (economic, health, educational, etc.) So one who wants to study health politics/policy could apply to political science programs as well as public policy and health policy programs.

Do you know of any programs where I would best be able to pursue this academic study? I was thinking maybe Emory because of their proximity to the CDC.

In addition to political science and public policy programs/schools, you could consider schools of public health.
