Pharm school 4 years vs 2 years

I hear Pharmacy school length being varied from 2 years to 4. Is it the different pharmacy schools you go to that changes the length or what you major in college?

All the pharmacy schools I know of are 4 years and require at least 2 years pre-pharmacy education.

So Pharmacist need 8 years of school and get paid 100k and are usually in like 100k debt? I know the salary is decent but with income tax and everything it feels like you are being jipped.

No, many pharm schools only require that you finish your pre-requisites…you do not have to earn a degree first. Depending on the pre-reqs, it may take either 2 or 3 years with a normal schedule of around 17-19 credits per semester. Right now, a few schools have a stated preference for candidates with a bachelor’s and the general trend seems to be towards increasing pre-req’s so that may become more widespread in the future.

So I don’t even need to major in something in college and there is a possiblity of being accepted into a pharm school?
