Pharmaceutical Sciences vs. Biochemistry/Cell Biology at UCSD and changing majors

Hello!

I am planning to be a pharmacist in the future and was wondering which major is more beneficial with a wide variety of options in the long run. I know pharm science seems to be an obvious choice since I am planning to become a pharmacist, but I just wanted some opinions from you guys. I am pretty interested in what biochem/cell biology has for its classes too (genetics and such).

I got into ucsd, but under biochemistry/chemistry...so here's the second part of my question. How easy is it to change majors at UCSD? (I'll be a transfer there).

Thanks in advance!

Major shouldn’t and doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you take the appropriate required classes so research possible pharm schools and make sure you take their requirements.

Changing majors is easy as long as it’s not impacted. Biology is impacted, chemistry is not. Major doesn’t really matter for pharm school but if you take Pharm Chem at UCSD, there is a 7 year program to get your pharm D (if you get in).
