hey i am thinking of majoring in pharmacology since santa barbara is one of the few schools to offer the major and the only one in california. what can u do with a pharmacology degree besides the obvious of becoming a pharmacist. also, would majoring in biology be better and open up more doors than pharmacology would?

It doesn't really matter what you major in, just as long as you fulfill all of prequisites courses and get a decent gpa.....moreover a pharmacology degree might give you some leverage in the admission process because you already possess an adequate knowledge of pharmacy.

You could also find a job in pharmaceutical industry doing research on new drugs etc.

if you do well enough you could always go on to medical school.

also pharmaceutical sales rep. many make great money by specializing in a particular product such as heart stints. the more knowledge you possess the better.
