Pharmacy and Calculus

Do any current pharmacy students know if you have to take calculus during the first 2 undergrad years in college while you are enrolled in a 6 year Pharm D program? And if so, is it just calc I or calc II as well? Thank you!

Nearly all pharmacy schools require calc 1 regardless of the time spent in school, especially since it is on the PCAT :frowning: Some schools will require calc II, but most stop after calc I. Each pharmacy school’s website usually gives prerequisites to enter their pharmacy program, so you will be able to check if they require calc II or not. Or, startclass.com has a list of pharmacy schools, and each school’s page on startclass has some of its prerequisites (though not all).

Each school might be different, so check prerequisites required for each PharmD program you are interested in.

PharmCAS has a list of schools with information that might be helpful.

My D’s school accepted AP credit for AP Calc for Calc 1 with a score of 4 or 5 on the AP exam so she didn’t have to take Calc in college.

@helppleasepharm thank you! I searched up all the prerequisites but since its the 0-6 program I acutally don’t have to take any other than english and stats. Plus, I don’t have to take the PCAT so that’s a huge relief.

@Tatyana25 Oh wow, that’s awesome! Good for you!! Glad I could help a little!
