I am an incoming freshman as a pharmacy major and I was wondering what are some of the criteria used by coop employers to choose their employees for coop? Do they look at work experience/volunteer work, gpa, or both? I would like to get a decent coop job in Boston (either MassGeneral, Children's Hospital, Boston Medical Center, etc.) by the end of my 2nd year, hopefully. How competitive are the coop jobs in Boston?

Also, is it possible to get a part-time job (or a summer job) with one of the hospitals in Boston during freshman year-sophomore year?
