Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, or Med School?

I’m going to complete my health science major and I still can’t decide which field I wanna go into, any advice?? I would like a field with flexible hours, good vacation hours, and has a good job scope in the long run.

Is there any way you could shadow people who work in these fields and see what they do/talk to them about their work? Does your school have a career center that has career exploration resources?

It’s a decision outsiders can’t make for you. Each direction has plusses and minuses. You’ve said you have issues with your college record. Talk to career services. You may not qualify for a professional program.

And flexible hours, good vacation time, isn’t a reason.

Don’t we all? Honestly, none of those seems to me like a walk down easy street. In my area, each of those professions, though well paid, work nights and weekends, they schedule patients very far out in advance (so there are certainly no spontaneous weekend getaways), and although vacation hours may be plentiful, you’ll be covering a lot of extra shifts when your coworkers are using up their share of plentiful vacation time. And who knows if or when a group of someones might actually succeed in putting us on a single payer health system (I personally think it is looking unlikely in my lifetime, but by no means impossible or even out of the question).

This is not intended to discourage you, but you should dig deeper, do some more research, shadow some people doing these jobs. It seems like working for a company (or starting a company) that SUPPLIES these professions offers a better match to your wish list than the professions themselves.
