i'm a high school junior and am about to schedule classes for next year. i'm pretty sure i want to go to a local state university for two years then transfer to a 4-year pharmd program. a school counselor asked me if i would be interested in an internship for next year. i wasn't sure if this would work out because i'm planning on taking ap calc, chem II, and other science courses. my question is -should i take the internship even if that means possibly missing out on ap calc or physiology?

I don’t see how that can’t work out, unless the internship is during school hours. What I would do then is take the internship, and take the course you were planning to take (I’m thinking you were planning to take psychology, not physiology) at your local community college.

sorry i guess i wasn’t very clear. the internship would be during school hours for my senior year of high school. i’m just not sure if it’s worth it to take the internship and possibly skip some of my harder classes.

I think an internship would be a very valuable experience, round out and distinguish your college apps and help you have a better understanding of your intended major. As seen on this forum many students who had tons of AP’s, great grades ect get rejected from great schools, it is not only about how many sci courses you take in Sr yr. Review your course choices and see if you can take chem, skip calc (you can take it in college) and go for the internship.
