Pharmacy major

I'm everything but a typical Indian. My gpa is very low, my ec's are extremely poor, but I have great test scores and a rapidly rising GPA. My main question is about the advice I've been recieving on these forums. Several people said I have a great shot at all of these schools, but when I talk to people I know in person, they say that these schools are very tough to get into. Are they right? I'm feeling doubtful that I have a good chance at schools like the ones I listed, mainly Purdue and U of Illinois. I believe my school is fairly competitive; it offers around 12 AP's. Without further delay, here are my gpa's, classes, and ec's. I've estimated my senior year grades as well as recs/essays, which I'm confident I will accomplish. Please help me out.

Freshman Year- 2.46 GPA | No EC's | No advanced classes
*Sophomore Year- 3.54 GPA | No EC's | No advanced classes
*Junior Year- 3.75 GPA | JV Tennis | Honors Alg II
*Senior Year- 4.66 GPA | V Tennis | Precalc, AP Lit, AP Chem, AP Bio
*Cumulative- 3.4 by the end of this year, 3.55 by the end of senior year.
*Class Rank- Top 30-35% by the end of this year, 20-25% by end of senior year.
*Sat I- 2250
*ACT- 26
*Sat II: Math IIC: 720
*Sat II: Chemistry: 720
*Sat II: Literature: 670
*Will have good recs
*Will have good essays

I plan on majoring in Pharmacy. The absolute #1 no doubt school that I believe is in my range, is Purdue. They have the fourth best pharmacy program in the US, and thats where I'd like to go. The only other possible schools are the other ones I listed, but I mainly want Purdue. One of my other questions is, when should I apply? I will have a 3.2 gpa if I apply before the end of this year.. help? Probably 40-45% rank also..
*Purdue University
*University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
*Washington University
*University of Missouri at Rolla
*Ohio State University
*Pennsylvania State University
If there are other colleges with my major, can you guys please list them? Thanks in advance

umm...im really not too sure with your GPA/SAT2's where you'll make it. if you want that accelerated "direct" pharmacy program that its a really far shot. Most kids that apply have like 3.8uw and SAT2's in 750+. Your SATI on the other hand is really high. Based on your other stats, EC's, how you present your EC's, essays, recs you might actually be well off for a direct program.

your undergrad chances for the normal 4 year uni and then application for pharmacy school is still excellent. Dont apply ED (GPA) as long as you can improve it senior year

Hope this helps

Try University of Cincinnati, which is rated number 32 in the nation.

I thought 700+ for sat II's was good enough? I mainly just want to know my chances of getting into Purdue, because if I get there I'd probably do pharmacy over chemical engineering, but if I don't get in there, I'd probably do chemical engineering over pharmacy. I also heard that Purdue doesn't require essays, their average gpa is 3.4, average act is 25, average sat is around 1150. They don't consider interviews either. So, with that being said, do I have a very good shot at Purdue, or would it most likely be my biggest reach?

you don't because purdue's pharmacy is their 3rd most competitive program and it takes like 150 new kids a year, with that said i would try but its not exactly likely. how about something where you know you'll get in?
