Hello All! I love reading about everyone’s plans and how well they’re doing. It all makes me wonder how I will do…

I’m entering my senior year this September and am curious of my chances of getting into these schools?

I completed AP Language Arts and Composition (SCORE: 2) and AP Biology (SCORE: 3) my junior year. I am planning to take AP Calculus AB my senior year.

I did crew for my school for three years (2 year Varsity) and played tennis for two years (3 years this year). I am captain for tennis but not for crew. I also work at a grocery store in my town, part time only. I am very active in my youth group and will eventually be head coordinator in a few years.

I am also in National Honor Society and very active in Student Government and a Peers Educating Peers club. Also if it helps, I am a resident of New Jersey.

I also forgot to put that all my classes excluding Spanish 1&2, Latin 1, Gym, Health, and Electives are honors. I have been in all honors classes since the 7th grade

Hello,

I will be a fourth year student in the six year Doctor of Pharmacy Program at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS). I am also a Student Ambassador in the Admissions Office and would love to answer any questions you have about our college.

Here is a little bit on my experience and future plans. This past summer I did a 3 week pharmacy community rotation at CVS pharmacy and I did my 1 week health and wellness rotation at the Brain Injury Association of New York State. These rotations were a great experience and I learned a lot from them. I am also the president-elective of a pharmacy professional organization we have on campus, Student Society of Health Systems Pharmacy (SSHP). Our organization focuses on preparing students for residencies, which has become a popular option post-graduation, especially if you want to go into hospital pharmacy. Our organization also has patient care projects where we go out to places in the community (libraries, nursing homes, the YMCA) and educate individuals about tobacco cessation, bone density awareness, and skin cancer awareness. Volunteering at these events has taught me how to interact with patients and also made me realize I want to go into a field of pharmacy where I can interact with patients on a daily basis. Personally, am interested in hospital pharmacy and will apply for a residency after graduation.

Here is also a little about why I chose ACPHS. I am also from the Northeast region and wanted a small school with a strong science focus. Here you are not just a number or a face, the professors actually know your name. For me, a smaller school made it easier for me to get involved on campus. If you told me senior year in high school that I would be the president-elect, I would have thought you were crazy. ACPHS has allowed me to mature professionally and academically.

Based on you strong academic performance and extracurricular activities, it looks like you will be a great
applicant for ACPHS! I would highly recommend applying. It also seems like you can manage your time well, this is very important here at ACPHS. I hope my response helps and please do not hesitate to ask any more questions!
