Honestly, does anyone have a ranking for this list. I know, ranking isn't everything, etc. I agree, and I don't want to judge a school by its ranking. However, I'm looking for a school that have an rigorous academic program in the science department and pharmacy. Please post if you know any information about how well these schools are relative to other pharm.D graduate programs. Thank you.

Thank you. Explain in a brief statement. How important is it where someone graduates and the correlation between landing very good pharmacy job? I heard that it really doesn't matter as long as someone has a pharm.D, and is registered to practice in the state. Is this stereotype true? Moreover, maxium salary in the career is around 100,000-110,000?

I've also heard that presently it doesn't matter much where you get your degree, because there's such a severe shortage of graduates compared to the hiring demand.

the salary mosly depends on where u live. i live in NY and they make pretty good amount. the median is around 110 000 i believe.

This is the wages where I live (south dakota) for 2005.

Percentile wage estimates for this occupation:
Percentile 10% 25% 50% (Median) 75% 90%
Hourly Wage $30.94 $37.80 $43.18 $49.66 $54.48
Annual Wage (2) $64,350 $78,620 $89,820 $103,300 $113,310

How long (approximately in years since start) does it take until a pharmacist reaches past 100K in a big populated state and smaller populated states? Money isn't everything, but I would love a career that challenging. Thus, I'm looking at getting a pharm.D, Dental degree, or MD.

Also, I'm have 14 APs done at graduation and I'm looking forward in enrolling in Organic Chemistry during the summer or freshman year, good idea?

Salaries for pharmacy graduates is difficult to interpret sometimes. Those who make the 6-figure salaries are the pharmacists that work in retail and thus have long hours and I've heard it's typically unfulfilling (the pharmacy techs do most of the work and the pharmacist normally just deals with the doctors and such). Many retail pharmacists burn out due to the long hours.

Don't expect as high salaries if you want to work in a lab environment. I hear these jobs can usually be more fulfilling but don't typically make the 6-figures the retail pharmacists make.

Thank you for the information. Sorry to ask to many questions, but I was wondering who completed or heard of someone that completed a pharm.D/MBA. What's your opinion on it, how the pay, and hours?

oh weeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

I'm currently a pharm student at FAMU an I have an uncle that graduated sometime in the 90's (not quite sure of the year) but he's a pharmacy manager at WalGreens and he makes well into the 6 figures. But what he told me is that by the time I graduate in 2009 he estimated that the starting pay should be in the area of $115-$120 maybe more. Also this person I work with said he knows a recent graduate who got a job paying her $122,000 (I don't know her so I don't know how true it is but i wouldn't doubt it)
