PharmD Interview for HS students?

I've been looking into pharmacy schools and they usually say that an interview is needed to be admitted.

However, I'm only a high school student and won't be applying through PharmCas. The schools I've been looking at are the ones that guarantee a seat in their program straight out of HS.

Would I still have to go through with the interviews? What if cost was a factor? I've been looking at quite a few schools and I can't really afford to fly all over the place.

The schools I've been looking at are:

Northeastern University
Univ of the Pacific
Univ of Connecticut
Rutgers University
Mass. College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Univ of the Sciences in Philadelphia
Duquesne University
Univ of Rhode Island
Oregon State Univ

Thanks. :)

buuuuuuump

Yes you will have to interview unless they specifically say otherwise. If you can't afford to fly there, that's your problem. You may get lucky and find a couple that will let you interview over the phone, but it's not likely to be many if any.

Realize that you can go to a normal undergraduate school and apply to any pharmacy school after two years (assuming you've taken the appropriate courses and the PCAT). My roommate actually stayed in college for 4 years and graduated with his bachelor's before starting pharmacy school. He's really glad he did, that he got to have a normal undergrad experience...

I thought interviews were only for students applying from a 4 year college, not HS students...
