Phase 2 Help

So my phase 2 is tomorrow, and the course I really wanted has a full waiting list. Right now, I am taking UGBA 10, Econ 1 (Delong), and Math H53.

I want one more interesting/easy course that would ideally fulfill either phil/val, soc/beh, int studies, and/or AC...but at this point, I just want an easy A. I was thinking Philos 12A or Econ c175 (leaning towards c175), but I heard Warren is bad for philos...and c175 says Econ 1 is a prereq? Can I still get an A without knowing econ 1 stuff? And econ's waitlist is almost filled...What else would people recommend as back ups? How would Spanish 4 be if I got a 5 on the AP Spanish lang? (it's almost filled too)

I checked the forums, and none of the other things I found work with my schedule (espm 50ac, classics 28, sociology 3ac...)

Final question, can I sign up for as many courses as I want (like waitlist them) and just drop later?

*answering your final question: during phase two, only up to a max of 16 units. unless your class units go up to 15, then you can add another that goes past 16.

and waitlisting classes counts to your total units you can add in phase 2.

i’m also looking for classes that fulfill those breadths, haha. i’m an econ major…for me, im trying to get into 101A but it is full…darn this school…

Urgggg…there has to be a better way to sign up for classes  But thanks…And good luck!

The limit is a soft limit which means you can add a 3-unit or a 4-unit course even if you already signed up for 15 or 15.5 units.

However, your idea of “shopping” the classes and dropping them later actually a really good strategy to choose the classes that feel right for you. Don’t get discouraged just b/c you’re limited to 16+ units at phase 2.

Ugh, waitlists… This was the first year telebears really screwed me over… Right now I’m a junior signed up for two lower div classes, and waitlisted for the only major related class I need that’s being offered this semester. -__-

graargg…I’m mad. How did that happen? Don’t juniors get pretty good times?
Are we allowed to drop phase 1 classes during phase 2? I waitlisted for a discovery course (human happiness), and I’m 176th (class size is 150). I just realized that was stupid, and want to get off the list. Should I use phase 2 for courses I need to waitlist already, or things I can get into for now?

Edit: This is my schedule now…if that matters at all :/

http://ninjacourses.com/schedule/view/422890/?t=74eab439</a></p>

If you’re not picky about what discipline the course is… PMB 13.

Also, don’t stress! I’m technically a senior and I don’t have Phase II until the 30th :)

Haha alright…I think I’m just going to see what I get XD…PMB conflicts with my math though, but I’ll check it out next sem if I need something! Thanks~

Note that you can use certain math courses (125A, 135) for PV. You can use Economics 1 or UGBA 10 for SBS if you do not end up majoring in business. So you may want to try to prioritize covering breadths like IS which will not be coverable by your potential major courses or courses that you are taking anyway.

Here is the IS list: [Office of Undergraduate Advising: International Studies](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/breadth7/is.html)

I ended up signing up for Demog C175 (cross listed Econ C175)…and it counts for IS! I didn’t even realize haha thanks  But it was weird…the econ lec was into the waitlist, but the demog one wasn’t…even though it is the same time/place/prof…Anyone know why?

Cross listed courses have separate buckets for each listing, so if one bucket (e.g. Economics C175) is full, try the other buckets (e.g. Demography C175). Consider it an arbitrage opportunity.
