Phase I vs Phase II classes

Hey guys, my phase I is coming up in a week and I'm in a quagmire. Here are the classes I wanna take:

Stat 21
Rhetoric R1b
AA Studies R2b
Chem 3A

Which ones fill up the quickest during Phase I and which ones do I have the best chance of still finding a spot during Phase II or at least getting off the waitlist? Btw I am an RCSA scholar (don't know if that helps though....). Thanks!

you might want to sign up for the classes which have discussion/lab sections, so you can get the times you want.

Maybe Chem3A and R1B?

Being a Regent's just means your phaseI and phaseII are earlier than other people w/ your class standing, so that should help a bit

Cannot be true. My roommate is Regents and he has his appointment on Nov 1. One of my suitemates is not a Regents but he has Phase I on same date at same time.

My guess is that they ascertain dates by giving priority to those who already have some AP credit units.

It is done by class standing. I have mine on 11/2 and I am a second year with junior standing. I'd like to know how this is relative to everyone else, since I got terrible appointment times last year (the latest of everyone I knew).

11/3, 1800 hrs. Freshman with Sophomore Standing. Sorry, Student, I think you still have a crappy ass appointment time. I'm the earliest person I know that has Sophomore Standing, most of my friends are going on the 6th.

yeah im a freshman with sophomore standing and mine is still 11/6. One of my suitemates is a freshman with sophomore standing and he has 11/2. Not fair at all.

im 2nd year with junior standing.. and in the past ive usually had some pretty late dates.. but this time..... 10/27 baby!.. anyone beat that?

I'm a freshmen and mine was 10/23

it's prolly different for colleges. i'm in LandS, frosh with sophmore standing and mine's on nov.3rd

I'm a freshman with sophomore standing. My phase is on Nov. 6th. Bah!!!

Argh, this is really ****ing me off now. I've never gotten a good TB appointment time.

hm, I guess I got confused..I think that's a benefit for UCLA's regents scholars.

sorry

L&S spring transfer (so junior), English major, went to CalSO... and I still don't get to register until the 8th. The 8th! My phase II is November 22. Why did I even bother going to CalSO again...?

I have phase I on October 27th, but I have phase II on Nov 22. Is my phase II considered late then?

Which course should I take for phase 1 first?
Chemistry 112B
Chemistry 104B
Chemistry 120A
Physics 7C
Chemical Engineering 150
Engineering 77
Engineering 45

HELP! Thanks

Physics and Engineering. You'll have priority for the chem courses.

For your reading pleasure, a list of the most typically impacted courses (this is from an advising flyer so I'm not making this up). These are the courses that you generally should sign up for in Phase I:

Asian American Studies R2A, R2B, 20A, 124, 141

Note: These are only the most typically impacted courses. Other classes, especially in these departments, are also frequently impacted. Therefore, you should not assume that you will have a good chance of enrolling in every course you request.

But this semester, the chemistry 112A class filled up rather quickly and the lab sections were filled. Also, would engineering 45 fill up quickly? How about physics 7C? I thought most people stopped taking physics after 7b?

its okay, sweetdreams. Nothing to be sorry about.

yeah... i'm in the same boat as you, undecided.

yay for nov. 8th! but it looks like the courses i will be signing up for aren't too popular (econ101a, stat134, math113, rhetor10)

which should i sign up in phaseI? i suppose i can just see how they're filling up up until that point... given that I have another ~2 weeks....
