ethylenediamine, you want to sign up for the courses that have lab/discussion sections first.

I definitely recommend signing up for Chem 112B as soon as possible, especially if you want a good lab section (Wednesday lab fills up very quickly). You can sign up for Chem 104 and 120 during phase 2 because they don't fill up nearly as quickly.

Thanks nanday. I decided to take Engineering 77 and Chemistry 112B. However, I want to take Engineering 45. But the lecture for E 45 is the same as E 77's, unless I take E77 with Sengupta, who I hear is hard. Would do you guys reccommend? It is either him or "THE STAFF." That lack of the identity of "THE STAFF" is also very disconcerting. =(

i had sengupta for e77 in spring 06. you generally fall asleep in his lectures. he orginally wanted to grade the class without a curve and then realized after the midterm averages that he couldn't do that. he was a nice guy, but the class didn't seem to focus on the programming as much as the statistics and physics that went beyond what you're supposed to know at that point. however, that just might be the general direction that the class has taken (my roommate took the class the semester and it was a very different class). anyway, i'm not sure about your position because, like you said, you don't know what you're going to get with "the staff". if i was to take the class again i'd probably take the risk and go with the staff.
