PHC vs. NPHC

What’s greek life like on campus ? Do the PHC sororities get along well with NPHC sororities or is there conflict/tension ? What are the NPHC sororities like – are they active on campus and in the community ? Perks of joining each ? The difference ?

Thanks :)

There’s a huge difference between the NPC and NPHC sororities, from requirements to join to activities and overall operation. NPC groups are big, NPHC groups are smaller. NPC groups pledge freshment, NPHC groups require a certain amount of hours before they will look consider you. NPC = recruitment; NPHC = intake. All the NPC groups have houses; most, I think, of the NPHC groups have houses but they are smaller and more spread out over campus. NPHC - National Pan-Hellenic Council includes both men’s and women’s groups. NPC - National Panhellenic Council is only women’s groups. IFC - Interfraternity Council is only men’s groups. I believe all the groups get along pretty well. There are certain activities during the year when the various groups partner, such as homecoming. Occasionally there might be a multi-group party. Perks of joining each? That’s up to you.
