<p>Have you considered working as an accountant? A PhD is needed if you want to teach at the university level but otherwise isn’t of much use IMO. Others will disagree. Even if you end goal is to teach I think those that have actually worked in the industry make better teachers. Whether experience helps in research is a question that I can’t answer.</p>
