PhD or Masters in Statistics

Are the career differences really that different for a person who has a PhD in Stats vs a Masters?
I plan to do my undergraduate in statistics and try to get into a management/ strategy consulting firm.
If I don’t land a position for a top management consulting firm before I graduate. I plan on getting my masters in statistics.
A PhD would take too long.
I do NOT plan to have a career in academia.
After my masters degree I plan to get involved as a data scientist. Does a PhD have a lot over a MS career wise?
