Phi Beta Kappa?

Hi all,

I'll make this short and sweet: Does anyone know if PBK invites have come out yet (I realize juniors who made the cut knew last year, so I'm referring specifically to seniors here)? If so, is this something that is emailed or sent via snail mail?

I presume invites have been sent since the commencement stuff is up and running, but I also vaguely remember this being an end-of-May notification deal last year. Any insight would be great.

Thanks and congrats to all those who are almost outta here!

Bump…no PBK cc’ers?? I find that hard to believe… ;)

I’m a junior who meets the requirements and haven’t received any invitation.

My daughter was invited to join last year as a junior. She is a senior now and will be graduating soon. Yeah! She has a 3.9 GPA. If I remember correctly it was towards the end of May. She may have gotten an email as her notification/invitation. You may still hear from them. I know that you cannot apply. You are either invited or not. I will see if I can get more info from my daughter and get back to you.

apparently, there’s more to it than just GPA: [UCLA | phi beta kappa](http://www.college.ucla.edu/pbk/). did anyone get a notification on myucla? are you paying the $80?

Yes, there is more to it than just meeting the gpa requirement. My daughter studied abroad in Paris for the fall of her junior year. She continued taking classes in French history and literature. They look for well rounded students who have stretched themselves intellectually. I believe they study your transcript to see the types of classes you have taken.
