I have an friend who's in Phi Delt and he wants me to rush there during the upcoming semester? What do you guys know about Phi Delt? Thanks.

isnt that frat nationally dry? apparently they dont abide by that, but why would you want to be in a frat that doesnt condone drinking, on the national level at least?

ive never gone and i dont know anyone in it.

it's a dry house...I've never been there. I don't think they really have mixers. I know some really weird girl who was dating a guy in there. That's the extent of my knowledge.

be wary about joining a house with fall rush... it usually means they didn't get enough guys in the spring and that is probably for a reason considering only a few of like 40 houses do fall rush.

however, if you are close with this guy, or even if youre not, i would suggest going over once and checking out the guys. if you mesh well with them, keep them on your list.

I would highly recommend to any one who knows a person in a frat to stay open minded even if you really like their house. It is definately necessary to not hang out at only one house. First semester is a time to explore a ton of houses and get to see what is out there. You could think you really love one house and then find one that suits you better.

good ol' phi dry. yeah, a guy i had a class with invited me to dinner there once, bunch of weird/nerdy guys. i think they have like stretch hummers during rush week making trips to the nearby casino in an all out effort to get pledges. have no rep on campus, don't mix with the good sororities.

lol spanks...one day i HAVE to meet you, yur hilarious. you remind me of someone i know

ah so phi delt was those guys in that stretch hummer...haha

thanks, sametwochords, lol.

I think from the perspective of rush the houses with difficulty attracting quality rushees generally have to resort to disingenuous rush events that don't reflect on the true character of the house and brothers and portray them as cooler than they actually are.

Jcas confirm

The houses with better quality brothers can host a great time without the help of hummer limos.

Better houses will be able to attract you based on the qualities of their brothers. No need for gimmicks like casino trips, hummer limos, etc, because its not like once you join you'll be rolling to class in one.

You should join a house based on how you mesh with brothers. Visit a ton of houses first semester, and talk to people.
