Phi Eta Sigma

Is there any point in joining? Is it worth anything?

What is that?

It’s this club thing for freshman with a 3.9+. It takes about 4-5 hours of your time. There’s a community service thing, an induction ceremony, a scholarship/research panel, and this other student leadership/mentorship thing. It’s not really that valuable, but I’m sure Emory would think it unbecoming of you to turn it down(hardly anyone does) because it’s such an “honor”. Also, there’s a membership fee, I forget how much

Yeah, I paid for something like that freshman year. It’s pretty much a scam. They offer you 10% discounts on crap that you can get discounts on without it.

Lol citylife, this is just my opinion but do you not like Emory? I’ve noticed in some of your posts your pessimistic attitude toward the school. I mean there’s nothing wrong with it - not everyone is going to LOVE their school, but what’s your stand on Emory?

citylife, I don’t think we’re talking about the same thing. I don’t remember anything about discounts

So don’t do it? Or do it?

Look it up on google to see if it’s legit or not.

TJC747 Why do you care what my stand is? It was an OK school. I wouldn’t have chosen it again for undergrad and I did not want to go there for law school.

I don’t care. I applied ED and I’m just wondering why some particular students do not like it.

I just didn’t think it was that good academically and I didn’t like the administration. The school does have good professors and nice facilities. However, the students didn’t impress me for the most part and I didn’t feel like I learned that much in the business school. I got a high GPA and got into my top law school so it doesn’t matter long term. I went to a high school that had great academics, athletics and an amazing administration. And I go to a law school that I like a lot more.

citylife, in one of your recent posts, you said that you are a student at Emory. In another, just a few hours later, you said that you are an Emory alum. What gives?

Lol yeah I was pondering the same thing Nighthawk.

I think you should do it unless you’re very very busy, just don’t have high expectations or take it too seriously

Alright. I’ll do that.
