<p>Can anyone tell me about this frat? Is it a good frat for networking ? how is the frat generally regarded at Cornell?</p>
<p>I've been there a bit, and it's my favorite frat so far. I don't know many frats, and Phi Tau is the only one where I know a sizable number of brothers, but most of the brothers I met at Phi Tau were mature, cool and friendly, and most memorably, with lots of personality. Not nerds, not douchebags. They seem like the kind of guys who'd be comfortable inside and outside of frat life, which isn't true of lots of people at Cornell. The personalities are pretty diverse - I could start describing specific people, but it's a public board. I'd say I'm a bit more mature than the average frat guy, and my preferences are going to reflect that, so that's something to keep in mind.</p>
<p>I went to an event of theirs with a good friend of mine who knows frats a lot better than I do, and he said PhiTau had the best brothers he'd seen yet.</p>
<p>I haven't thought of PKT in terms of networking, but two of its brothers are on the executive board of AKPsi, a business frat, and another is both a brother of the other business frat and just got onto the IFC board. Not sure that PKT is much of a 'power' frat though, check Psi U, SAE, maybe Sig Phi, Sig Pi, Alpha Delt.</p>
<p>I haven't heard much about PhiTau, it's a pretty low-key frat. They do have mixers (I know they've had 'em before with DG, not sure how often). And they seem too classy to do the regular schtick that other frats do, like having strippers over to oh, whip guys with their own belts and pour hot wax on 'em. Their house is nice but small, so the parties there are generally smaller.</p>
<p>I was there two different nights, and the hotness of the girls varied drastically from one to the next, so can't give solid observations on that aspect. (When it was bad, there were supposedly lots of semiformals and formals going on that night elsewhere...)</p>
<p>They say they don't haze, also. </p>
<p>Just curious, why are you asking specifically about Phi Tau? What have you heard?</p>
<p>If you want a concrete measure of how cool a frat is/which are the cool frats, find out who the hot sororities mix with.</p>
<p>Phi Tau is full of really mature, nice, classic, semi-preppy guys. They're all basically straight-up good, fun guys. They have a middle reputation I'd say.. not bad at all, but not top **** either. They mix with a wide variety of houses too... I'm pretty sure they mix with everyone save AOpi and I really doubt kappa mixes with them. But their mixers are fun, and are respectful/respected.</p>
