I am a transfer student in my last 2 semesters of CC and I received an invitation for the Phi Theta Kappa. I don’t see them listed on the ACHS website. Is this a legitimate Honors Society? I was reading about honor society scams and I am a bit skeptical.

Yes. PTK is legitimate. It is the national honors society for CC students. Many colleges and universities offer small automatic scholarships for PTK members, and several offer significant scholarships. Shell out the membership fee, get your login for the national website, and see what PTK can do for you.
Don’t forget to also see what you can do for PTK. The chapter at your CC might be really active, and have lots of interesting social and community functions that you can participate in.
My nephew is a member and is receiving $3500/year scholarship at his transfer school for it.
