I currently applied for Fall 2010 admission to Cornell as a jr. trans. to the CHE as a PAM potential.

I am very involved in my community college's Phi Theta Kappa chapter (vp, organized lots of service events; am all All-AZ first academic team member; All-USA nominee; and coca-cola scholar. I have a 3.97 with 57 credit hours and great LORs (one from my Phi Theta Kappa adviser, the other from my academic adviser who knows me really well)

Anyway, I received a letter inviting me to apply b/c of my connection to Phi Theta Kappa and I just wanted to know if anyone else received these types of letters and if so, do you think they are an advantage for admission? This letter spurred my to apply to Cornell--before that I never thought ivies or other highly competition schools even looked at community college transfers.

I read an old thread on here about it but it was form 2009 and didn't have too much info.

Just looking for any advice or success stories.

Oh, and I found out I was a coca-cola scholar AFTER my application was submitted and sent on for review to the admissions committee. Do you think I should let them know I was named a scholar?
