Phi Theta Kappa

I'm a high school senior who dual enrolls at a local CC in my area. I just got an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa. I'm interested to join it, but it's $80.00 if I'm not mistaken. I have no money, and I'm interested in joining because of scholarships. (I'll be going off to a university in the fall, after I graduate) Should I join Phi Theta Kappa, would it increase my chances of getting scholarships? Or I shouldn't because I don't plan on staying at the CC?

Since PTK is a CC organization, I believe all of their scholarships are for transfer students. Won’t you be applying to 4 yr colleges as a fr? If so, while PTK could help in being an honor to put on your resume, I don’t think you would qualify for the actual PTK scholarships.

I agree with entomom, dual enrollment credits generally do not preclude you from applying as a freshman and freshman scholarships are usually much more generous than any offered to transfer students. But, PTK is an academic honor, and would be worthwhile if your parents can help you cover the relatively small fee.
