Phillips Academy Chances

Andover and Hotchkiss are just as hard to get into as Exeter, if not slightly harder.

This year, Exeter has a record number of applicants. They extended their interview period by 10 days just to accommodate some of the applicants.

iHerculez, do you know how many applications Exeter received? How did you hear about the 10 day interview extension?

No, I don’t know exactly know how many applications they received. I’m guessing maybe btw. 100 to 400 more applicants They have maybe 100 more interviews to do. Yesterday would have been the last day for interviews normally, but they got so much applicants they had to extend the interview period. I think all the interview slots were booked up since late december. I heard about this at my interview, the lady told me this year she got so much more work to do because there were more applicants. Then she said this was going to be many more applicants so they extended their interview dates by 10 days. She guessed at this increase in applicants from the publicity they got for have a $1 billion dollar endowment and free tuition to families earning less than 75k.

Wow, that is amazing–up to 400 more applicants? I am sure she is right; the good publicity on the $1B endowment as well as the free tuition contributed to the increase (plus it being such a great school :))
Good luck to you iHerculez. How did your interview go?

Thanks, I’d need all the luck i can get. The interview was great, short though. I had the bestest time visiting the school. It was so much more then I expected. The one thing that got me hooked was eating at their dinning hall and attending a swim practice. The kids there are so friendly, and the swim team coach was just amazing.

randi, it’s a comedy, six one acts, really funny! i’m applying to andover, exeter, SPS, loomis and the hill school.
