Hello All,
I recently submitted my application for the 2011-2012 school year to Phillips Exeter Academy. During the 2011-2012 school year, I will be in 11th grade.

As I contemplated which schools to apply to, I made the choice not to apply to every prestigious boarding school with hopes that I get into at least one. Phillips Exeter Academy is the only school I applied to because the financial aid caters to my family's financial situation, and I like that I can indulge myself in sports while learning through an extremely rigorous curriculum.

Some background info-
I was born in the Caribbean and moved to Florida when I was 7 (I AM a US Citizen). I currently attend a public Charter High School that boasts the best academics in the county.

I attended a public middle school for grades 6,7,and 8, and I began to take a few high school level courses:
EIGHTH GRADE
Spanish I- A both semesters
Algebra I Honors- B first semester, A second semester
Marine Science Honors (online class)- A both semesters

NINTH GRADE
French II- A both semesters (I was able to skip French 1 because I speak the language often at home)
Spanish II- A both semesters
AP European History- A both semesters
Biology Honors- A both semesters
Geometry Honors- A both semesters
English I Honors- A both semesters

During the summer after ninth grade (2010) I attended a leadership/community service trip abroad in the Galapagos Islands for two weeks with a program called Global Leadership Adventures. I participated in restoring the natural habitats of the islands' endemic species. I earned 20 volunteer hours and the experience of a lifetime.
Because I portrayed leadership qualities (so I was told my my group leader) , I was chosen to be a Global Ambassador for Global Leadership Adventures.

I have played competitive soccer on a travel team for about seven years, I played on a state cup soccer team (statewide competition) for 1 1/2 years and I am also an avid traveler.

For my essays,
I wrote about my passion for soccer and how it has allowed me to build a second family, develop discipline, and learn organization n order to balance my studies with sports.

For my second essay, I wrote about my interest world cultures and how my experiences through traveling have led me to expand my knowledge on this interest.

I submitted my PSAT and SAT scores, which are both a bit lackluster as I did not study for them because I did not think I would be applying to Exeter.

PSAT- 182 (84th and 85th percentile in Reading Comprehension and Math, respectively, and 99th percentile in writing)

SAT- 1730
