Hi all soon-to-be-Exeter students and Exeter students...

I decided that since I'm going to need a WHOLE lot of stuff for next year by september I bet start accumulating it now. So my question for you is: What are the dorms like on average size-wise? Do people generally bring their own furniture, lighting? Desktop or laptop? and feel free to answer any others I forgot to ask.

The laptop/desktop split is about 50/50. We don't take notes in class on laptops and there's no wi-fi, but if you want to take a laptop to the library or something, laptops are good for that. It's really personal preference. Room size depends on the dorm, but usually pretty decent. I brought my own lighting my first year (a floor lamp), but they provide a desk lamp. People generally wait to see how big the room is before bringing furniture, but a lot bring things for the walls, curtains, rugs.

Oh, I remember another question I wanted to ask, do most of the rooms have a bookshelf? The one I saw did.. but is that common (and provided by the scool)? Thanks!
