Phillips Exeter

It has always been a dream of mine to go to Phillip's Exeter Academy. My dad attended and is now an active alumnus of the school. I was just wondering what my chances were of going as a repeat sophomore. I took the SSAT 2 years ago without studying and got an 80%. This year, I'm taking it again and hoping for the 90's (with studying).

Academics:
- all honor classes, weighted GPA 3.7 at the end of freshmen year.. hoping to get up to a 3.8 this year
- good recs

Athletics:
- varsity ice hockey as a freshmen (though I didn't play in games)
- freshmen field hockey (i'm not planning on playing at exeter)
- rowing (novice as a freshmen, now I'm on varsity)
- I've already talked to the crew coach and am hoping to meet her and my next regatta

Extracurriculars:
- active member of my church
- sing/play piano
- horseback ride since I was 4
- volunteer at a therapeutic riding center
- Student council
- French club
- Global Citizenship club

Please let me know what you all think-- I'm open to any advice! Thank you!

I have no idea. You might get more (and more useful) replies in the Prep School Admissions subforums.

Try posting in the prep school admissions forum :)

^^ I think you do have a good chance, as long as you show to the admissions officers that you care and have a really keen interest in the school and what it will offer you. You sound like a very intelligent independent person which is good when applying for prep schools or basically anything of importance!
