Philosophy 101 or 201?

At my school, 3 semester of philosophy are required. There's 101 (Foundations of Western Thought), 201 (Perspectives on the Human Situation) and 301 (ethics). Because 101 and 201 aren't sequential, you can take either one first. Right now, I'm registered for 201 with a professor who doesn't lecture but rather likes to discuss with the class, and assigns a lot of work, but tells you on the syllabus how much you need to do for each grade. Well, I don't know if I really have time for all that work, and a 101 with a professor that has decent reviews on RMP just opened up. Should I switch or stay? If I switch, then I'll undoubtedly have less work, but, I'll have 4 classes MWF. If I stay, then it'll be more work, but a more spread out class schedule.

Eh, I’d go with the 101 teacher. If you are doing the class only for a general education requirement, it is not really worth it to put a lot of pressure. 4 classes a day really isn’t a big deal unless it interferes with other duties like a job. Unless you really , really like philosophy, I’d go with the 101 course.

But, it’s your choice.

It’s just core (gened). I would not take philosophy otherwise!
