Philosophy 6 - Difficulty, and another question

Hi everyone,

I have just a couple of quick questions regarding the Philo 6 course taught by Prof. Dreyfus at UCB.

First, how is the difficulty of the course? I am an incoming freshman, and I intend on taking my 2nd-half R&C course in the spring in favor of this course in the fall because I am genuinely interested in the material. But is it reasonably possible to get an A in the class?

Second, and this is a more technical question, I'm wondering, is there supposed to be a discussion section for the class? The catalog - General Catalog - Course Search - Results - mentions "one hour of discussion," but on Tele-BEARS I only see a lecture available and no discussion section. Has Tele-BEARS not been updated, or is the catalog outdated, or something else?

I would appreciate your response. Thanks!

I think a lot of times with philosophy classes they establish discussion sections after class starts.

When will students take classes to learn and not for their grades! ;)

when grades stop mattering.
