Philosophy and Biochemistry major

Philosophy certainly is an entirely different beast than Biochem!

Three resources for help on Phil papers:

1) Professors. Talk to yours in person during their office hours, ask specific questions on the readings, or have a draft/outline of your paper ready and have them go over it in as much detail as possible. You’ll find that most professors will be happy to help.

2) Library. Most schools will have some resources available on how to write essays. Large institutions will likely have the resources to offer in-depth, subject-specific writing workshops, and may even offer “courses” on how to write academic literature.

3) Guides. My moral phil professor recommended Vaughn and McIntosh, *Writing Philosophy: A Guide for Canadian Students/i. I’m pretty sure much of it would be useful for Americans; you’ll just have to deal with proper English =P

My phil of lang prof recommended this online guide; glancing through it, it seems pretty helpful.

[Guidelines on Writing a Philosophy Paper](Guidelines on Writing a Philosophy Paper)

There are, of course, other guides online or available for purchase. Your library probably has a stack of “How-To Philosophy” somewhere on a shelf even as I type this.
