I was wondering how the undergraduate of Philosophy was at UVA? Can any student in the department shed some insight? How large is it? Thanks

I was searching for classes on SIS and there are a lot of interesting classes in the Philosophy department, check it out for yourself

Yes, I noticed that there is an extensive class list. But I was wondering from a Philosophy major or someone that has taken a Philosophy course how it is. Thank you.

I know some fellow engineers who have taken philosophy classes and really like them, and if you can get an engineer to take classes outside the e-school and enjoy them and not just take them for easy credit, they have to be good classes haha.

Ha, that is true.

I’m very interested in Philosophy at UVa as well, can someone shed some light?

I am currently in PHIL 206, Philosophical problems in Law. Sounds interesting but is SO much more philosophy than law. I don’t like it but it at least showed me law school is not in my future (types of reading, court cases, etc.). TAs are hit or miss, I have one, he is brilliant but finds it very difficult to communicate with students who have not devoted the past 10 yrs of their life to the stuff. YMMV. Im glad Im applying for comm school
