Philosophy Department?

Hi,

I was wondering how the Philosophy Department at Kenyon is. Any information regarding it would be very helpful.

Thank you.

It’s very good. Philosophy of mind is supposed to be especially strong. The smartest Kenyon student I know is in the philosophy department and he quite likes it.

Hey, I just visited and my friend’s parent’s friend’s son goes to Kenyon and I met up with him while I was there. His name is Jim, he’s a philosophy major and a Russian minor, and he told me all about Kenyon especially in the philosophy department, it sounds top notch. it sounds amazing, actually. He said there’s 3 kids in one class and 6 in his other (he’s a junior), and they bring their books to his professors office and discuss aristotle in a completely relaxed and, by the sound of it, intellectually fulfilling environment. I cant wait to take some philosophy courses there.

Oh yes, I forgot; he said the philosophy courses that are somewhat interdisciplinary with sciences (of the mind) are incredibly interesting

Yang Xiao is a golden god.

jim’s a great guy, and the philosophy department is top-notch. it’s a little smallish, and all men (if that bothers you), but it’s arguably the best department on campus.

Based on what?
