well if you're accepted to Georgetown, come to the Hilltop! Here's some info from the philosophy department's site(shouldn't I be studying for finals...lol)

The Philosophy Department enjoys a very strong connection with the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, a world-renowned think tank on campus which focuses primarily on bioethics. Six of the Department's faculty - Tom Beauchamp, John Langan, Maggie Little, Madison Powers, Robert Veatch, and LeRoy Walters, have full-time joint appointments with the Institute; John Keown completes the Institute's roster of world-renowned scholars. All of these faculty have sustained interest in applied ethics, public policy, and ethical theory.

The presence of the Institute enables the Philosophy Department to offer a dedicated Master's in Bioethics, as well as course offerings that enable all interested philosophy Ph.D. students to gain a valuable competency in teaching bioethics. Further, the bioethics library attached to the Kennedy Institute - the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature -- offers faculty and students the world's largest collection of bioethics materials, and a truly astounding collection of books devoted to ethical theory, all set in a beautiful library supported by seventeen professional librarians and bibliographers.

i think you should go to UC b

what about what i did?

NYU probably would open more doors for you, since it's not just focused on engineering. I never was a fan of cooper union anyway(i like larger schools), so i'm biased. However you can't go wrong with NYU!

Interesting, I know GT has a great ethics program, that's why I applied to it. I'd like to know how it compares to UVA and NYU's UG program, for instance.

Mike:

What kind of art are you studying? The Art History program is the best in the country and the Institute for Fine Arts is excellent and you do have access to these as an undergrad.

I don't think you made a mistake at all.

JW

I am studying studio art, but one of the major reasons I did not decide to go to Cooper Union is because NYU has far more resources and departments. I will be a good artist, learn and do a lot of work wherever I go whether it be Cooper Union(Which tells me I am foolish for passing them up because "they are the best", NYU, which is the school I truely see myself at, or some other school with limited art.

JON
what would you suggest I do in order to get the most out of the Institute of Fine Arts and The Art History Department as an undergraduate I am planning on taking full advantage of these incredible resources, do they offer independent studies, I am a Dean's Scholar so I hope/wonder it has some weight in regard to faculty and Power in the University as an Undergraduate...What can you tell em about this? and about taking advantage of these programs?
