Philosophy Major - NYU, Chicago, UVA, Cornell, Yale or Georgetown?

Hello everyone,
Out of these colleges which one would you encourage for an aspiring philosophy undergraduate student? I know NYU has a top-notch graduate reputation, but i'm still unsure on how that reflects on the UG education.

Could any of you offer me any insight on this and help me choose the best suited universities from this list?

Philosophy Major - NYU, Chicago, UVA, Cornell, Yale or Georgetown?

yea i'd be curious about this too

I would go for Yale.

really? i understand that princeton is supposed to be best among hyp for philo....

Chicago- John Dewey taught there! (There aren't many legendary American philosophers to brag about8)

Philosophy IMO is what you make of it, those are all top-tier schools, so don't fret. Few schools would put particular emphasis on philosophy, though Chicago has a reputation of being more "cerebral" and "intellectual" than other elite schools.

Clearly I'm bias though; I'm going to U of C next year (and I like philosophy).
