philosophy

does anyone know anything about the philosophy department at michigan?

thanks in advance

what do you want to know about it?
you should just check out their departmental website.

According to most rankings I have seen, Michigan's Philosophy department is very strong (among the top 5 or 6 in the nation). However, department rankings are based on research and can sometimes omit very strong, non-research programs availlable at smaller universities and LACs, which offer undergrads as good an education as the larger programs.

For something like philosophy, I think your lecturer will make a huge difference in your impression on the subject, more than other subjects. Philosophy is something where you want to have a good teacher who will get you to think/reason/question and get you to like doing it. Research is only secondary in importance. Just my opinion. That being said, there are many Michigan philosophy professors who can do just that.
