Philosphy of Science + Civil Eng

Would this be a good combo? Maybe not double major but Eng major and philosphy minor possibly. I was thinking of doing this at UPitt

Philosophy of science is not too common a major, and pretty theoretical. Civil engineering is highly practical. The combination of these two will not really augment your career options or competence. Also, philosophy of science is more directly connected to actual sciences than an applied field like engineering. I’m not sure how much your understanding will, benefit, either. On the other hand, civil engineering is plenty to support yourself by, so if you want to take philosophy of science for fun, great!
