I really want to learn how to draw blood. I'm not even necessarily interested in it just to put it on my resume (although I'm sure it would look good) but I just think it's a valuable trade. I'm not sure how extensive the training is and if it would be at all possible for me to do this while going to school. I've searched online for information, but there's not a lot of it. Just a couple of those online universities. Does anyone know anything about it?

1) While you’re not interested in having it on your resume - it’s a great thing to have. Lots of patient interaction, some doctor experience. It really counts as a great clinical experience.

2) The few friends I know that did it, got their training through the hospital they ended up working at. Not sure the exact process though. I’d check with some of the hospitals in your area about what they require. An Online University is NOT going to help you (you need hands on practice, not some piece of paper).
