I saw on the website that my application was reviewed by the committee in early February for regular decision and a Carnegie Mellon student called me tonight to answer questions that I have about Carnegie Mellon. Is that a good sign?

Sorry, but that doesn't mean anything. I've gotten calls from students from lots of schools. The admissions office seems to just give them a list of all the people who applied with their major/in their department to call.

Yea that doesn't really mean anything but seeing as you are applying to Ivies, you might just get in :)

What if a student emails you? I recently got an email from a student - and I've read that before the decision is mailed a current student emails you. Can anyone shed any light?

No, that means nothing. :)

I got a personal e-mail a long time ago from an Associate Director of Admissions about me not formally taking physics, that was, uh, rather suprising haha. Oh, how I love to over-analyze.
