Phone Call from Dean of Admissions

Does it base on school's policy also whether they are going to call some students like they did to Cricket ?

Congrats, Cricket !!!

THANKS NELLY!!!! <3

nns91- The dean called to give me the "option" of coming in as a repeat 9th grader or a new 10th grader. I was beyond psyched. So I think she called with a purpose and she divulged that they were "interested" in me when they came to my file.

What are you going to do - 9th or 10th?

Hmm. I think I may go into 10th grade now that I've thought it over. I've applied to 9th grade @ all my other schools so I figure it would be nice to have an option! Also, if I realize that B.S. is not for me, then I would want to stay with my classmates at my public school. If I repeated 9th grade then I would no longer be in my current graduating class, but I'd be bumped down a grade.

Its not much of a science. Its just what feels right to me.

Congrats crickett! You must feel great. What a way to relieve some of the anxiety! Can you choose either 9th or 10th grade if you get accepted to all the schools?

I dont think so! I think that they were being extra special nice and asking which grade i'd prefer (which is amazing). My parents suspect that they wanted to find out how they could lure me into attending by offering me a choice. I'd still go in a heartbeat, though :)
I'm still excited to hear from my other schools, though! Just 10000000X less nervous!

Did you have to indicate which grade you were applying when you applied?

Yeah, I did.
We had a conversation about me repeating or me moving forward during our interview. She said "We talked about you being held back during our interview but we didn't talk as much about what would happen if you were to continue on as a sophomore. You can call my office and we can talk but we came across your file and we believe that you'd be a great fit for the school and we'd be happy to have you either as a 10th grader or an incoming freshman."

So I was beside myself.

Thats like a dream come true! YOU SHOULD BE SO HAPPY! THEY LOVE YOU! LOL

I forgot to say... CONGRATS!

OMG CONGRATS CRICKETT!!!!
i want that call!!! D:
hahahah

That is wonderful crickett!
The fact that you applied to repeat 9th and they are offering you the chance to do either is a great sign!
As others have said, they are starting their "red carpet" now. They are thinking you will be getting more than one thick package on Monday.

As for everyone else - don't worry, I'd say the majority of acceptances do not get calls. (I know though, it sure would make this week go by quicker if you did!)

Congratulations!!!

congrat. what school is it?

Cricket-You seem to realize this already, but whatever you do DON'T reveal the name of the school! Congratulations! You deserve it. :)

Yeah you never know which admission officer preys on kids on here! I heard Hotchkiss goes on here from a friend....watch out Hotchkiss Applicants.......lol....but seriously watch out.....

Crickett, did you call the dean back?

jennycraig-- My mom called back when I was at school and was talking about my excitement! It seems as if I'm accepted for 2008-2009 as a sophomore :)

Congratulation.

It's a really good sign. I wish I had one like you but I think they will not call me
