<p>Not sure for humec but for some other colleges in cornell they just give you alumnus interviews if you live close to one.</p>
<p>^^^^It’s a little confusing because this thread, originally from 2008, mentions calls from alumni to applicants in the header.</p>
<p>But last week, applicants (some or all ?) to the College of Human Ecology received calls from current students in the College asking if they had any questions about the College and reminding them to submit any required financial aid forms. Not at all an interview - more of a courtesy call. But, the timing of the call has given some applicants (like my daughter) a bit of hope. Her feeling was, if they had completely decided against me, why would they have taken the time to call me. They could have just sent a courtesy e-mail.<br>
It’s anybody’s guess I suppose.</p>
<p>So no one is aware of Humec applicants that didn’t receive the call?</p>

<p>For what it’s worth, my daughter applied to CAS and got the alumni interview, not the phone call (equates to Human Ecology phone call maybe) and my daughter’s boyfriend, also applying CAS never heard anything - he lives a mile away from her and alumni interviews are done by geographical proximity. Long story short - she got in and he didn’t. I agree, it is either “neutral” or “positive” and I’ll go out on a limb and say positive! It seems counterproductive to call prospective students a few weeks/month before the decision date to ask if they have any questions.</p>

<p>I would say its an acceptance, but don’t take my word for it. I applied to HumEc two years ago and got an email from an alumni a week before I got a likely letter.</p>
