I wasn't home all night but when I got home, my mother told me that I had received 2 phone calls from Cornell, congratulating me on my acceptance. She said that the person wanted to talk to me about Cornell. I was accepted already but did other accepted people get this phone call too? Is it standard procedure for RD acceptances? This might be a bit of a stretch but could this indicate that I might have a significant chance at the Cornell's "merit scholarship" programs?

All of the rolling schools are doing phone-a-thons this week and it has nothing to do with the Commitment scholarships. I'm just curious but were you accepted to ILR?

Yea - I got one of those phone calls last night. It was very awkward because she wouldn't really talk...haha...but anyway, I got accepted into CALS RD. I dont think it has any significance (scholarships, etc.)so don't think too much into it.

awesome! congrats to you all!

now that i know phone calls are another way of finding out, i guess i'll pitch a tent next to the mailbox, next to my computer, and next to the phone! hahah and when peopel ask me what i did over spring break, i'll say "i went camping....A LOT"

They didn't find out over the phone; they already knew that they were accepted. The rolling schools just use the phone calls as a way of answering any additional questions and hopefully convincing the students to come to Cornell.

oh. well then....i feel incredibly dumb now. haha.

Nonetheless, intherr, the mental image of you planting yourself outside by the mailbox with a very long telephone wire trailing from the house is kinda funny... or maybe it's the other way round-- you "unroot" the mailbox and paste arrows pointing all the way to the house for the postman.

I got a phone call and then like a couple days letter I recieved a likely letter. So all I know now is that "it is very likely that [you] will be accepted."

haha yes!!! i love the latter image, leigh787!! hahaha that's great!
