<p>Hey everyone ok so I am most likely going to FSU and I want to know what is the best service to get for my phone. AT&T, Verison, Sprint, Virgin Mobile, etc. I want to hear from your experience what phone service get's the best or the worst</p>
<p>I have tmobile and when I visited tallahassee in october I had great signal all over campus and all over town.</p>
<p>Our family has had ATT, Verizon and Sprint. Of all, in the Tallahassee area, Verizon has marginally the best coverage followed by ATT. Sprint is also workable.</p>
<p>The difference between Verizon and ATT is not enough, however, to make me give up my ATT iPhone. Verizon is also the most expensive if you have a smartphone.</p>
<p>I have no problems with coverage with ATT except in the stadium on gameday.</p>

<p>If you want a reliable smartphone on the cheap for Tallahassee, Virgin Mobile is difficult to beat. You can get unlimited data, and text, plus 1200 minutes talk for $40/mo. No contract; pay month to month online. Uses Sprint 3G network. If you don’t talk much–300 minutes/mo. plus unlimited data it is only $25/mo. Virgin sells its LG Optimus V 2.2 Android phone for $150 (a one time purchase deal), phone works on wifi too for free. You can buy the phone at Target, Radio Shack (use their coupon and save another $10), online at Virgin Mobile, and I think Best Buy. I got it 3 weeks ago and I like it!</p>

<p>thanks “tallalassie” I actually was looking at that phone and it seems really awesome I am leaning toward virgin mobile but at the same time I want to make sure that I hear from all sides before I make a decision but LG Optimus V is definitely on my list

<p>Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network. What could be important is the fact that [Sprint</a> phones roam to the Verizon network](<a href=“http://mobile.engadget.com/2006/12/18/sprint-users-can-get-their-data-served-verizon-style/]Sprint”>http://mobile.engadget.com/2006/12/18/sprint-users-can-get-their-data-served-verizon-style/) when they need coverage. If Virgin Mobile does not roam as do Sprint units then you will have comparatively poor coverage.</p>

<p>These secondary services are possibly of lower quality than the general Sprint service. If the best coverage and performance is most important I’d suggest staying with one of the top three carriers (ATT, Sprint and Verizon). Sprint already offers some feature packed plans at less expense than ATT and Verizon.</p>
<p>The Virgin Mobile works fine for me in Tallahassee, haven’t encountered any deadzones. It also works for where I might travel, but I wouldn’t want Virgin if I traveled a lot as the service doesn’t include automatic roaming from what I understand. So if I was flying to the moon in a space shuttle or if I was on FSU’s basketball team flying all over the place, I wouldn’t want VM as my main communication device. Guess it’s a tradeoff for the low price for the service. The Sprint coverage area that Virgin uses is pretty good though by itself. What I want to try next is setting my android phone for VOIP so I can supplement my VM talk minutes to save money. If anyone is using VOIP (Google Voice + Sipdroid?) with their cell phone I’d be interested in how that is working out.</p>

<p>Straight Talk works great in Tally too. I had the service and it never let me down, $45/mo. unlimited talk and text. If you’re are really creative and industrious, you can buy the Straight Talk smartphone, take its sim out and put it in an I-phone and have unlimited service for your I-phone for $45/mo. I love 'em and leave 'em!</p>

<p>Somebody was saying before that Boost is part of Sprint, I think that is the reference. Actually the best phone service is maybe the one your parents are willing to pay for for you! If your mom wants Boost and is going to pay for it, get that. If the Boost service ends up being crummy, she’ll get you something else when she can’t talk to you on phone.</p>
