I am an international applicant and I got an email today to setup a phone interview with an admission officer.
I would like to know if all international get a phone interview ?
Also, this is going to be directly with an adm officer not with an alumnus and I have the feeling that it could have a very negative effect on my application if the interview does not go well.
Any comments ?

Anyone ???

well, maybe you want to try webcam if you are not particularly comfortable with telephones. I think any interview will have a negative effect on your application as long as you blow them. so don’t freak out even if it’s an admission officer

Thanks. I was wondering if the officer in charge of the interview would be the same person reviewing my Application.
Does anyone know any detail about the process itself? Is there a centralized committee where all the admin officers bring their cases or does every officer have some kind of freedom to select and admit candidates on his own ?

There are 35 admissions officers. Each is assigned particular regions and read all applications from said regions. They select their favorite applicants to bring to small committees first, and after a few smaller committees, s/he will advocate for you when the full committee votes on every applicant.

Thank you for the information.
35 admin officers for 30000 applications, means about 12 applications/day/officer during the 4 months from jan-apr considering 5 days/week
If they have to meet in various committees then it is even less time. Is our fate decided in 15 mns ? It took me litterally several months to write my application and essays !
